One more protester killed by police in southern Nepal

One more protester was killed by police and three others were injured on Sunday afternoon in Kalaiya municipality of Bara district in southern Nepal, about 80 kilometers south of the capital city of Kathmandu.

The demonstrators led by Madhesi People's Rights Forum (MPRF, also called Madhesi Janadhikar Forum) clashed with riot police, who shot and killed one demonstrator named Majir Alam Ansari, 25.

Bara district issued curfew on Sunday morning from 8 a.m.(0215 GMT) to 5 p.m (1115 GMT).

On Saturday afternoon, one protester was also killed in by policemen's firing.

The violent demonstrations led by MPRF began on Jan. 19. The Forum claimed that one of its members was shot dead by a cadre of the Communist Party of Nepal (formerly known as guerrilla). MPRF later collided with policemen, which rendered six people's death.

Madhesi people are people in Nepal with Indian origin.
